Is Drinking Stressing You Out?

Are you the passenger or the driver?

Are you going to set the destination

or are you going to let alcohol set the destination?

(Not a good plan)

Are your passengers going to help or hinder you on your journey?

For too many years I was the passenger, not the driver.

It certainly stressed me out.

I knew alcohol was taking more than it was giving and I couldn’t or wouldn’t do anything about it.

The fear of what control alcohol had over my life was frightening and I seemed powerless to do anything about it!

It made me feel pathetic, or as Allen Carr coined it.

“Our self respect is already somewhat deficient, and it doesn’t help to be regarded by others or indeed by ourselves as a

weak-willed jellyfish”, not good.

(The Easy Way to Control Alcohol)

After all I had succeeded quitting smoking,

one of the hardest things you can do. (or so they say!)

So why could I not cope with booze?

I hate to admit that much of my stress was actually fear of the substance and its grip on me.

In fact I was like many normal drinkers that drank an addictive substance

and YES I got addicted, surprise surprise.!!

If this rings any bells with you, join the club.

You are not alone!

But fessing up to it takes guts and most drinkers don’t want to face facts.

So, you are at Step 2, Realisation

and it’s time you got in the driving seat and make sure your passengers want to come on that journey with you.

If they don’t leave them behind and replace them with somebody who does!!

You may ask where is this journey going to take me?

and how long will it take?

Firstly, it is a journey you have resisted for a long time and it will be the best journey of your life.

You look for a road map, a way forward.

Going alone may seem daunting.

My 100-day course is the roadmap and you will have very good company to share the journey with.

Secondly, it is a journey that is a bit bumpy for the first 100 days,

and you can stop there and return to your bottle if you want..

or you can decide to continue and your driving journey

so you can decide where you want to go from there.

The longer you continue this journey the smoother and easier it gets.

See you there.
