What Is Accountability All About?

MEMBERSHIP: On Going Support – Lets call it what it is

The Accountability Group

Most courses don’t make any mention of the “after group” or the cost.

They wait until you are almost at the finish line and then mention it hoping you will just pay whatever, rather than feel abandoned and left out.

And it works,
for a while.

Graduates of the course will be invited to join the Members club which actually is The Accountability Group, to provide ongoing support.

This support system is aired at the beginning of the course not at the end!

So WHAT IS The ACCOUNTABILITY GROUP?

Well, it is a group of likeminded people who have been through the course, and are brought together by a common desire to hold one another accountable. They empathize and don’t judge.

Don’t FEEL ISOLATED

I didn’t tell my wife or friends that I was quitting the booze because I had tried and failed so many times, so, I felt very isolated.

No need for that here.

We give and get accountability, as well as energy and ideas from meeting with likeminded people.

Face to face interactions work best, but when that’s not possible, as in our case, the use of technology is an important tool.

Virtual accountability is less intense, but a lot more convenient.

COST/BENEFIT TO YOU

Do You Want to Feel Abandoned?
Do you want to lose contact with all the people that shared your journey?

I have done courses where it is too short and then you are abandoned, whether you’ve achieved your goals or not.

Everyone feels accountable during a course, it’s what happens at the end that is equally important.

We are so excited about joining a course that we don’t think about what happens at the end.

LEFT IN THE LURCH?

At AFB we don’t leave you in the lurch!
When there is a membership of some kind by these courses it comes at a high cost.

CAN I JUSTIFY THIS AMOUNT?

Every month when the monthly fee is due you question the amount charged.

That’s the last thing you want to do.

This is what I did and give it up as it was too expensive.

I wasn’t happy.

I was paying about 40 English pounds (that’s over $AUD70 per month!)

A Contribution, An Affordable AMOUNT

We ask for a contribution to help run it and add worthwhile content so we will offer this as a resource, and AUD$25 is all we ask, the cost of one good bottle of wine each month.

PRICELESS SUPPORT. WHY NOT BE A MENTOR?

A small price to pay for accountability and priceless advice from people who understand what you are going through.

WE all like to help another.

It is surprising how much people want to help others when it comes to this kind of thing.

Because we all need some help, sometimes.

You can’t succeed in a vacuum.

It’s worth accepting help even if that may seem a problem now.

This is not a set and forget process.

In my case I had been drinking for 50 years or so and although I don’t think about it now, I wish I had found something like this when I quit…

NEXT TIME…..What Should I tell my family and friends?
