What didn’t work for me!
When time came to decide whether my relationship with alcohol needed a good think about, the first thing I did was to look on the internet for some help and guidance.
I did a few courses at large cost and found none of them worked for me.
TRY AA
I attended a number of Alcoholics Anonymous meetings.
Don’t get me wrong if you try a few meetings and they work for you, great.
They have saved many lives over the years.
But if it doesn’t do it for you, try this.
I Tried a lot of methods and courses
My findings were that all of these so-called methods relied heavily on will power which sooner or later will fail you.
Also, they were too short and did not allow sufficient time to create new habits.
What did work for me
So, I developed my own method, a system that can be followed week by week. And all it takes is.
- an initial financial investment in you, for the right length of time, not just a few short weeks.
- your time during the course.
it doesn’t just work by itself.
You have to do the work. - Someone to show you the way, offer support, guidance and accountability.
A Course With a Difference
Founder members will give feedback so we can create a system that works and is designed to give participants what they want, not what I think they want.
Course Application
All we ask is that you want to have a good look at your relationship with alcohol.
Nobody is Asking you to Quit Forever, that’s too overwhelming!!
For 10 days. And ask yourself, do you want to try 20 days?
Then quit for 20 days, and, ask yourself do you want to try 30 days?
Then quit for 30 days. And ask yourself, why not try 40 days?
Then quit for 40 days
As you can see, that is how you get to 100 days, a bit at a time.
By the time you succeed the final 40 days its job done, you won’t even be counting the days anymore!
READING/ AUDIO
One way of achieving new difficult things in life is to follow in the footsteps of someone who has done it before.
Standing on the shoulders of giants.
I have read/listened to a lot of books whose authors have achieved and succeeded in life goals I struggled with.
Why Audio? Doesn’t That add to the cost?
How much is drinking costing you now?
Books often take 2/3 weeks to arrive which is too long..
Being impatient I find audio better.
Audio books arrive in an instant and I can listen anytime when I’ve had enough of looking at a screen all day.
It can be listened to on the commute to work or at any time it’s convenient.
I go through this in detail in the course.
ADD A MEMBERSHIP GROUP
We all need some accountability, and a membership site gives that.
When we stop doing something we have spent doing for maybe decades some form of work is ongoing. We need to be kept accountable, and get support.
It’s not a set and forget life change, for most of us.
Accept that it can be hard for some, but we all need a bit of help at certain times.
That help is always there in a group like this.
Why not Be a Mentor?
For some it’s a good idea to mentor a member who may be new to the group. This can be a great help to both parties, a good source of guidance for the newbie, a strong form of accountability for the person further down the track.
