As a drinker you think that everyone drinks.
There are a lot of people that don’t drink at all, it’s just that they don’t advertise the fact.
It could be referred to as a secret society.
EVERBODY DRINKS, DON’T THEY? It’s NOT NORMAL NOT TO DRINK?
I hadn’t realized this when I was a drinker. The thought never occurred to me.
When we socialize and mix with others at parties and gatherings we are attracted to groups of drinkers.
We tend to look at nondrinkers and pity them because “How can they be having a good time without a drink “
ARE YOU BRAINWASHED?
Like you start judging them?
As mentioned before, drinking alcohol is so accepted by society that those that don’t drink are considered “party poopers’
A saying goes “Never trust a person that doesn’t drink.”(alcohol that is) What rubbish!
” We have been brainwashed from an early age that a good time can’t be had without alcohol!”
What rubbish!
HAVE YOU EVER FALLEN OFF THE WAGON?
One of the main reasons so many fall off the wagon is because of peer pressure.
I found myself having to justify why I didn’t drink anymore.
QUESTIONS, QUESTIONS
It is testing and tedious to have to answer this questioning.
One friend of ours asked me every time she saw me,
” Are you still not drinking?” I found this very irritating but would politely say.
“I don’t DRINK anymore.”
I went to have supper with friends last Saturday and the first thing the host said to me was “are you still not drinking?
“Are you sure you wouldn’t like a beer or some wine “as he topped up his glass!
He knows I have been a non-drinker for well over a year.
I settled for a nice cool glass of water as we ate our meal outside, it was a lovely warm evening, whilst others around me enjoyed their wine, no problem.
I had a great time and then drove us all home, NO problem.
So don’t let these people get you to fall off the wagon.
Be firm and polite. Eventually they will get used to it.

Advice from an Inspiration-An Unlikely Source
“You just don’t realize how many sober people there are.”
“You realize what a large sober society there is.”
The most unlikely person says “I have 13 years” & you think how does this dude have 13 years”(of sober living).
“There are a lot of people that are sober,
it’s not even a thing.”
“You get all your feelings back,
You may well struggle, especially in the evening. it’s good to have feelings again instead of going through life as a corpse, a drunken asshole.”
“If you don’t want to be a sober person, go back, go to the bottle shop get your bottle and your beers and your misery will be refunded to you.”

Said by an old guy at an AA meeting.
—————————————————————
“When my head hits the pillow, I will have been sober all day, and tomorrow I’ll try to do the same thing.”
“Don’t think too far in advance, keep it real simple and go day by day.”
“The time you might struggle is in the evenings. there’s something powerful about being sober in a crowd.”
“You find out who your friends are.
Your drinking buddies will ignore you.”
PATHWAY to SUCCESS
Many people succeed best when they keep their starting steps as small and manageable as possible.
Small steps can be particularly helpful when trying to do something that seems overwhelming.
I’m not getting all preachy.
It’s from someone who has done it.
